This is how our prototype looks at the end. It gives a clean look with the lasercutted wood and grey felt cover. We also made an instructable for the bag. https://www.instructables.com/id/DPSB-Design-Process-Support-Bag/

We sat together to work on the prototype. Last wednesday  we lasercutted the plates, and now we put everything together. We also made some decisions on the report and materials etc...  And divided the work a bit.

consult 8/05

In the last couple of weeks we sat together twice to make final decisions on the DIY prototype, and to discuss research and materials for the medium batch and mass production. We had decided to use PP as a material instead of the aluminum, because it is much lighter. Consult (Davy): it's contradictory to want a stiff material yet still want to fold it, because there are different sizes you'd need different molds, this adds to the cost maybe it can be made in different pieces (increase assembly cost but decrease mold cost significantly) small/medium batch won't use a mold because it's too expensive maybe think of a more modular system look for sandwich materials like delight or alucobond (for example used in elevators) don't write of a machine on 1 product, it will be used for different products cost/hour, maintenance, energy... a mold can be written of on 1 product for textiles: maybe look at centexbel, or specific producers like sioen write ...
